KPV with Games

Here are some games that can be conducted in KPV sessions:

1. Pass the ball

Description: trainees pass the ball randomly amongst themselves and ask Questions like, nimma hesaru enu? or nimma mane ellide? The receiver person needs to answer the question and then throws a ball to another person, asking another Q.

Can be conducted every 1 hours, to review lessons of the previous hour.

2. Form numbers

All the attendees are running on a circle. When the teacher shouts a number (say, 6) trainees form different groups of the given number. In this example, trainees will form groups of 6 people each.

3. Introduce Others

A team of 4 trainees is formed. For example, if there are 20 trainees, form 5 groups of 4 each. Let one person from each team introduce other 3 members of the group to everyone else. She/he may say: Avara hesaru Raghavendra. IvaLa hesaru Harshita. Avara ooru Belagavi, etc.

4. Name all Words

All the attendees sit in a circle. Start from one person. Each person will tell one Kannada word (like, neenu). Next person needs tell a different word (like, naanu or hesaru or ooru). Like that, all attendees are expected to tell a different word. Any attendee either who repeats a word told by others or does not have any word to tell, become OUT. Repeat this game till a winner is left out or till the game does not lose interest.

This game can be played at the end of each part / once in two hours / at the end of each day.

5. Homework

At the end of Day-1, tell trainees to prepare for next day. On Sunday (i.e. next day) when the session begins, training can started with this homework session. Each member gets 2-3 minutes to tell about their family. Information like, "nanna ooru Belagavi" or "nanna magaLa hesaru Harshita" can be informed.

6. For Day-2

Preparation: Write around 7 different yet simple sentences like, "nanna raajya Karnaataka". Tear apart paper pieces such that each piece contains one word (for example): "nanna", "raajya", "karnataka". Give each trainee one of these pieces in random order.

Make groups of 3 members each. Give all "first" person pieces to one group. Give all "nouns" (like, belagavi or karnataka) to second group. Give all "connecting words" (like, hesaru, ooru, raajya, mane") to the third group.

Ask 3 members to stand in a line, such that they form a sentence: like: nanna ooru belagavi.

  1. some more thoughts......

a)Make a team of 4 people and asking them to mimicking conversations between auto driver and passengers, vegitable market, bus conversations announce the best team.(may be on day 2)

b)Encourage the participants to comeup with mimicking the some of the day to day converstions [one (and tell them best performer will get some surprise prize) [ home work for day 2 and perform at the end of the day 2]
    c) Pass the ball game - Students pass the ball. Shikshak will keep on saying some basic words. If a specific word comes (which is predefined eg idly, sambar family) then person who is having the ball is OUT.
